10. GP Block, Meerut


Located at 450km from Uttar Pradesh, this house has managed to turn a lot of heads. According to the people who pass by and have witnessed the abnormalities, they claim to have spotted four men drinking beer with a single candle light. Some of the locals have also claimed that they have seen a girl in red dress coming out of the house. The GP Block haunted house is a two-storeyed building and the boys were seen sitting on the roof top.

9. D’Souza Chawl of Mahim, Mumbai


This place is one of the most famous haunted houses in Mumbai and has managed to surface in the media several times. Located on the Kalina Kurla road of Mahim, this place has got its own story. As the story goes, a local lady fell into a well and died, that well was the only source of fresh water till then. But now, nobody is using it. The locals say that the spirit of the deceased lady haunts the corridors of the Chawl and is also spotted at the well in which she died. It appears to be that she is harmless.

8. Vrindavan Society, Thane


Despite being listed as a spooky place, the people of this society have no problem staying in it. It is said that a man committed suicide in one the building of the Vrindavan Society and is now wandering in spirit form in the same society.

The guards who patrol in the society have reported unusual happening. Although this spirit seems to be completely harmless, it’s a little naughty. It is said that this ghost slaps people. Yes, that’s right! Slaps people, many such incidents were reported by the people of the society, mostly by the guards.

7. Shaniwarwada Fort, Pune


Located in the heart of the Pune city, this place is one of the most haunted places in Pune. During the full-moon nights, people have reported that they have heard a voice crying for help. People say that the voice says, “Kaka Mala Vachwa” which translates to be “Uncle save me”.

According to the legend, the voice is a young boy who happens to be the prince at that time. It is said that the prince was brutally assassinated by one of his relatives, at the age of 13.

6. Delhi Cantt, Delhi


One of the most polluted places in the country includes Delhi. But the Delhi cantonment is a place where you see nature’s true beauty with lush green trees surrounding the path. This place has got something more than just trees.

The locals, as well as many people who have been there, have witnessed an unusual activity in the Delhi cantt. According to the people who witnessed, they said they have seen a ghost of a lady in white dress and was asking for a lift. When they stopped the vehicle, she vanished. If they didn’t stop the vehicle, the people found her chasing after the vehicle often running at the speed of the vehicle and sometimes even faster. But there are no cases of harm registered till date.

5. Savoy Hotel, Mussoorie


This place has got a long history dated back to 1911. A spiritualist named Frances Garnett-Orme stayed along with her friend at the Savoy Hotel located in the hill station of Uttarakhand – Mussoorie.

During that period of time, one night the hotel staff member found the dead body of Frances in a mysterious fashion. Later it was known that she was poisoned. These mysterious deaths of people continued at that hotel for a long period of time. Reports say that people have often complained about noises and spirits walking around in the lobby of the hotel.

4. Dow Hills, West Bengal


The beautiful state of West Bengal is surrounded by various hills but not all of them are normal hills. The Dow Hill in Kurseong is one of the most mysterious places in West Bengal. Various unusual cases have been registered in the area.

Local woodcutters have reported many occasions in which they claim to have seen a headless boy walking and disappearing into the woods. There have been several suicide incidents and a few of depression cases of the people who have visited the Dow hills.

3. Valmiki Nagar, Chennai


Located in the heart of the Chennai city, this place is probably the most haunted place in Tamil Nadu. This house in the Valmiki Nagar has been vacant since 10 years after the death of the woman that once lived there.

The Apartment number F-2 on 3, Seward Road is the house which is possessed by the spirit of the girl. Neighbours say that they keep hearing sounds of the girl sobbing along with the very frequent slamming of doors of that house. Many unusual incidents have been reported, like – screams of a girl from inside the house, loss of mobile signal while moving past that house, the opening of gates automatically while walking past that house.

Locals also say that two people tried investigating the house and were possessed by her evil spirit.

2. Dumas Beach, Gujarat


It is one of the beautiful beaches in Gujarat and also has got its own history of paranormal activities. History says that the Dumas beach used to be the cremation ground for Hindus and that is where it all began. They say that the spirits of those people wander in the beach looking for peace.

There are several reports of people hearing strange whispers and there are reports of some tourists going missing on that beach during night time.

1. Bhangarh Fort, Rajasthan


This is the only place in India which has been assigned a sign board from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) stating that entry into the fort is restricted after sunset.

Legend says that the Fort was cursed by a magician during the rule of King Madho Singh in 1613. Since then the entire Bhangarh town is deserted. Locals say that whatever type of house they build, the roof collapses.
