People all over India are rushing to their nearest Reliance digital stores to get their hands on the Reliance Jio SIM card. The reason for this huge demand is due to the immensely cheap 4G data and calling services that are being offered by Reliance Jio Infocomm. The best part about Jio network is that all their services which include unlimited free 4G data and calling can be enjoyed for free till the end of this year, i.e., December 31, 2016.
Those who have a smartphone which supports dual SIM are good to go. But, what about those who have a premium smartphone like the iPhone which supports only a single SIM card. If you’re one among them, then this article is just for you. In this article, I will be telling you steps in which you can successfully port any SIM service like Airtel, Idea, BSNL, etc to Reliance Jio very easily so that you can enjoy Jio services without changing your mobile number.
Steps To Port From Any Network To Reliance Jio: Reliance Jio MNP
With your current SIM card inserted into your smartphone, you need to send a message to 1900 – which is a national mobile number porting helpline which in turn sends you a unique porting code. This code will be used for porting to Jio network.
Type in the message “PORT<space><Current Mobile Number>” (without the quotes) and send it to 1900.
You will receive a unique porting code as a reply your request.
Take that code to your nearest Reliance Digital store and you need to fill a customer form and provide the porting code that you received in the previous step.
Your current network will continue to function as long as the Jio SIM takes for activation. Once your mobile losses the signal, that means that your mobile network is now ported to Reliance Jio. It might take 7-10 days (depending on areas) for the Jio SIM to be activated. After which, you can enjoy your new Jio network with your old number.
