Reliance Jio Launch
The much talked about telecom network Reliance Jio has finally made it’s official launch on 5th September 2016. Tonnes of attractive offers were revealed to the public during Reliance Jio Chairperson Mukesh Ambani speech in the time of Reliance AGM. The Jio 4G services were already creating quite a buzz in the public with its Preview Offer which gives out free and unlimited 4G data and voice calls for 3 months.
Post launch, certain things are made clear by the company. Here we bring you the most important and interesting things that you need to know about Reliance Jio.
1. Anyone can get a Reliance Jio Sim now.
After the official reliance jio launch on 5th September 2016. Any person with a valid 4G supported mobile can get their very own Jio SIM card. Previously, the Jio SIM cards were only given to the users of selected 4G supported smartphones, but now, anyone can get a Jio SIM just by going through the normal procedures.
2. All Services will be FREE until 31 December 2016.
The preview offer which was offering free 4g data and unlimited calling for 3 months has now been updated. Any Reliance Jio user can enjoy the benefits of the preview offer till the end of this year, i.e., December 31, 2016. After which the tariff plans will be applicable. The tariff plans of Reliance Jio are India’s cheapest 4G services yet. So, they are as good as free. Don’t know about the quality, though.
3. FREE CALLS and SMS
All the tariff plans of Reliance Jio have free calls and SMS. That’s right! You don’t have to pay a dime again to make a call. You will be only charged for 4G data services and the other benefits like free calls, SMS, Jio app subscriptions and completely complimentary.
4. Jio Services FREE on Public holidays and special occasions.
Usually, telecom service providers charge more money on public holidays like festivals, etc. But, Reliance Jio will not be the same. Jio will be charging the same cost even on special days, public holidays, etc. This is one of the very attractive offers that Jio has brought in for its customers.
5. 1GB for Rs 50
Before you get all excited, let me tell you that this is just a metric. The actual plans do vary. In conclusion when the tariff and the data usage allocation is compared it’s brought down to 1GB for Rs 50. You can check out their official pricing details on their website.
Seems like Jio will be the lowest tariff offering service in the market for a long time. But companies like Airtel, Idea and BSNL will not probably keep calm. Let’s wait and see what changes they bring in their tariff plans as an attempt to retain their customers.
