On January 17, Noida-based Ringing Bells company disclosed a Smartphone leaving the Indian mobile industry vibrated.The reason behind their shock is,how a Smartphone can be so cheap i.e, only Rs.251($4)??, however, the actual manufacturing price of phone costs around Rs.2500.
A FIR was filed against the company. Ringing bells faced rough time for a period.Despite all the conflicts,finally mobile is going to hit the store.
Ringing Bells CEO said,”we learned from our mistakes and decided to go silent till we launch the product”. Also added,”we will have a loss,but I am happy that the dream of connecting rural and poor Indians as a part of the initiative, ‘Digital India’s and ‘Make on India’ is going to be fulfilled with our cheapest mobile”. The company faces a loss of Rs.140-150 per handset but hoping to gain profit on the whole.
The Freedom 251 is featured with 4-inch qHD display with 960×540 pixel resolution,8GB internal storage with expandable memory (micro SD card) up to 32GB.It offers 8MP primary camera with flash, 3.2MP front camera and 1450mAh battery life.when comes to connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, dual-sim with 3G network.The phone is available in 2 colours (black and white) and all basic Google apps are incorporated in the device. The original product seems much better than the released prototype.
Legal Authority claims that over 500 service centres were all set in the country to launch the mobile.
Although Ringing Bells went through a bad break, however, it is set to stir the market.
