After gaining access of Iribe’s account the hacker declared himself as the new CEO and also tweeted out a lot, some of which are as follows.

Security researchers believe that this is due to reuse of same passwords in different websites. This can increase the risk of the users to have their accounts hacked.
Oculus CEO Twitter account now has been restored, when the hacker was questioned by TechCrunch on how he was able to get access to Brendan’s account, the hacker said that he was able to find his credentials in the MySpace database hack in 2013.
Since Brendan still used the same password the hacker was easily able to get access to his account.
Word of advice:
Make sure to use different passwords for different websites as a security fault in a single website could potentially expose your entire online presence to others.
