Before you follow the instructions below we recommend you to take a backup of your computer.

Method 1: The “Temp” Cleaning

If you are a person who uses the internet a lot, then your computer might get slower because of all the unwanted data which is stored inside the computer when you open a website. The steps to remove all this unwanted data is given below.

To access “Temp” folder you need to enable the view of hidden files and folders in your computer. For Windows 10 PCs there is no need to enable the view of hidden files and folders.
  • Open My Computer.
  • Navigate to “C:WindowsTemp
  • Select all the files of that folder and delete them.
Well, if you don’t want to go through all this procedure then you can simply download a software called CCleaner which does all the work for you.

Method 2:  Uninstalling Programs

Any computer won’t work fast if its full. So, you need to uninstall all the unwanted apps and softwares from your computer. Method 4: Clean Recycle Bin

Method 7: Optimizing Startup

The large number of unwanted programs that start when the computer boots up increases the load time and also makes the computer slower as there are lot of unwanted apps and programs working in the background which you don’t need.
Disabling the programs from starting at the time of computer startup increases the speed of them computer not only at the boot load time but increases the overall speed and performance of the computer. You can disable some of the startup programs based upon their impact on the startup time and use of them.

  • Open Task Manager, you can do so by simply right-clicking on the nav bar and selecting Task manager.

Method 8: Disabling Visual Effects

If you want something you need to sacrifice something. What I mean by this is that there are certain Visual Effects like the opening of a windows, transitions from one windows to another, etc. These relatively small Visual transition effects have a certain impact on you computers performance. This is because the available resources are being used for Visual Effects purpose and this reduces the amount of resources available for the computer to perform better and be faster.
Disabling these Visual Effects enhances the performance of your computer but there will be no fancy transition anymore. You can disable these Visual Effects by following the steps below.
  • Open Control Panel.
  • Select System.
  • Under System open Advanced System Settings.
  • Select the bullet that says Adjust for best performance.
